About the Artist
Past Exhibitions
Martino Lyell Hoss has been a full-time, professional fine artist for nearly fifteen years. Over this period, he has earned a widespread reputation for his landscapes of the West. His vast portfolio reflects a variety of mediums including: pastels on copper, serigraphs, block prints, paintings, monotypes, etchings, pen & ink drawings, mobiles and murals. Bold color and texture capture the artist’s deep passion and express Hoss’s sensual reactions to nature in a way that resonates with his viewers.

Experience
Hoss considers himself to be a permanent student of the natural environment. He received a B.F.A. in drawing and painting from the University of the Pacific, in 1982, and a B.F.A. in Advertising Design from Art Center College of Design, in 1987. Hoss has traveled extensively through Europe and the United States, especially in the Pacific Northwest and California, areas that have inspired many of his dramatic landscapes.

Representation
Hoss is currently represented by galleries and corporate representatives in Seattle, Washington, San Francisco, and Pasadena, California. Over the past two decades, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In addition, his work is featured in many prestigious corporate collections. Every year, Hoss shows in a variety of venues, including his invitational spring and fall studio shows and informal summer sketch sale.
